Climate Control At Your Fingertips
Research clearly shows the detrimental effect a poorly managed room temperature will have on productivity and the ability of students to study.
The NUT draws attention to Education Regulations that state temperatures in school classrooms should be 18C at the least. There is no maximum temperature as such but the World Health Organisation suggest that 24C is considered to be a comfortable working temperature with 26C being the maximum to ensure student comfort and maximise concentration and focus.
Following these guidelines we have a target range of 18-24C which we should try to maintain for the benefit of our children.
With classrooms often sealed, huge increases in the use of electrical and IT equipment how can we provide a comfortable environment for our children to develop and prosper. We must also not forget the teaching staff in this equation, they face different challenges on a daily basis and their welfare and happiness must be paramount. If we can help to create the right environment for staff and pupils hopefully we are helping the children of tomorrow!
Installing comfort cooling and heating systems in school classrooms is a vital part of the success of a school, research in the US by Healthy Schools and the Association for Learning Environments proved grades improved in a temperature controlled environment.
